The notorious 5x5 split is the ultimate programme when it comes to building strength and size. It consists of 3 days of 3 major compound lifts, with 5 sets of 5 reps for each lift. For those who choose the 4 or 5 day split option, there’s an additional 4th day of isolation work for muscle groups that don’t get covered on the compound days. A rest day must be taken inbetween the compound days A,B & C for optimal recovery and performance.
